Morrison, Colorado Yoga Instructor
I was introduced to Yoga in college during the 1970s and I have practiced and studied through the years. In 1999 I began an in-depth study of Iyengar yoga through the Advanced Studies and Teacher Training Program at Blue Spruce Yoga (BSY) and the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver (IYCD). I began teaching at IYCD in 2001 working with pregnant women and young mothers in a unique program that I designed called Yoga Baby. I began teaching Beginning Yoga at BSY in Lakewood around the same time.
In 2005 I opened Peaceful Hills Yoga where I continue to teach. In 2008 I began a three year program of assessment for certification through the Iyengar Yoga Association of the United States. You can read about the rigorous assessment process in my blog. I received certification in 2010. Continuing yoga education is an important ingredient in maintaining certification in the Iyengar method. I traveled to India in 2014 to study at the Ramamani Memorial Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune. There I was able to study directly with Prashant, Geeta, and Abhijata Iyengar. In 2016 completed a program of study for certification in yoga for the care of scoliosis and back pain with Elise Browning Miller, senior Iyengar yoga instructor. Yoga has supported me through most of my adult life. I love yoga, and I am committed to helping others discover its many benefits. I believe there is no greater gift you can give yourself or the others in your life than to practice yoga. Yoga helps you to feel comfortable in your body and relaxed in your mind. When you are comfortable and relaxed you are able to treat others with care.
I am also a lawyer. I am married and I have three grown children.
